COMMON MEASURE IN AUTOMOTIVE DESIGN AS IT PERTAINS TO AERODYNAMICS
Automobile drag coefficients; Frontal area; Car drag coefficient
The drag coefficient is a common measure in automotive design as it pertains to aerodynamics. Drag is a force that acts parallel to and in the same direction as the airflow.
Zero-lift drag coefficient
AERODYNAMIC DIMENSIONALESS PARAMETER
Zero-lift drag; Zero-lift drag coefficient area:
In aerodynamics, the zero-lift drag coefficient C_{D,0} is a dimensionless parameter which relates an aircraft's zero-lift drag force to its size, speed, and flying altitude.

Synchronous Coefficient of Drag Alteration
Synchronous coefficient of drag alteration (SCODA) is a biotechnology method for purifying, separating and/or concentrating bio-molecules. SCODA has the ability to separate molecules whose mobility (or drag) can be altered in sync with a driving field.

Drag coefficient

In fluid dynamics, the drag coefficient (commonly denoted as: c d {\displaystyle c_{\mathrm {d} }} , c x {\displaystyle c_{x}} or c w {\displaystyle c_{\rm {w}}} ) is a dimensionless quantity that is used to quantify the drag or resistance of an object in a fluid environment, such as air or water. It is used in the drag equation in which a lower drag coefficient indicates the object will have less aerodynamic or hydrodynamic drag. The drag coefficient is always associated with a particular surface area.

The drag coefficient of any object comprises the effects of the two basic contributors to fluid dynamic drag: skin friction and form drag. The drag coefficient of a lifting airfoil or hydrofoil also includes the effects of lift-induced drag. The drag coefficient of a complete structure such as an aircraft also includes the effects of interference drag.
